PSTN and ISDN lines shut down in December 2025
The PSTN and ISDN networks in the UK will be shut down by Openreach in December 2025.
Any companies (and residential users) using these lines will need to have moved off these before this happens in order to be able to make and receive calls.
Visit our VOIP Solutions - Hosted VOIP and SIP pages to see the alternatives that we can offer to new and existing customers in the UK to replace your PSTN, ISDN2 and ISDN30 services.
Below is a link to the BT Openreach site that relates to this essential change.

This complete shutdown will also affect many existing ADSL and FTTC – PSTN based broadband products as well as lift lines and alarm lines which are often PSTN based.
These broadbands can be switched to our SOADSL broadband or to our SOGEA and FTTP high speed fibre-based products, depending on what is available in your location.
In some cases we would be moving you to GSM SIM mobile based solution depending on the availability of any of the above possible replacements at your location.
We also provide dedicated Leased Lines which are now mainly delivered on a 1GB bearer, providing great speed and reliability at a very affordable price.
Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions regarding this major change in the telecoms sector and hopefully, we can move you to a much better IP based service.
